Building & Park Use

You can use our park for your events or special occasions!
Our old-fashioned country setting is great for family/class reunions, birthday parties, graduation parties, family picnics, summer parties, and even weddings/wedding receptions!

Unlike a typical event hall, our park offers an exciting, adventurous outdoor playground area for children, newly built stage & pavilion, plenty of shade, seating, and a ballfield. All of this plus a modern building for indoor activities!

The Fertigs Community Center is nestled on 7 acres of beautiful country ground

in Venango County, PA.

“Our address is: 4887 Camp Coffman Road Venus Pa 16364”

When coming to the Fertigs Community Center from 322 in Kossuth, make sure to turn on Camp Coffman Road (main road) not Kline Road (rough dirt road).

After months of planning, in April of 2022 we started a large project that would give new life to the grounds. The demolition of the old stage was first on our list. Next, we prepped & redid the driveway & parking lot so that it was a solid surface and easier for those in wheelchairs or strollers to navigate. Next, we prepped the area where the new stage & pavilion would be built. In August of 2022 the old pavilion was disassembled so that we could finish the new build. The new stage & pavilion was finished just days before Old Home Day 2022. We even added a new garage to the back side of the stage & pavilion for more storage.

Inside the stage & pavilion you will find 18 picnic tables, each table seats approximately 10 people, allowing for larger outdoor gatherings. We decided to keep the layout flat, but we did purchase a foldable, rollaway stage to elevate bands and speakers during our events. The new stage & pavilion matches the building in color and style. Electricity is available upon request when you are reserving the building & grounds.

The playground is open to the public all year round from dawn until dusk. Our playground has many pieces of equipment for children of all ages including two jungle gyms (one metal and one wooden), tetter-totters, large and small slides, a climbing dome, a small sit-and-spin ride, many spring animals, a hand operated excavator for the sandbox, monkey bars, a small zip line, and a swing-set. Some of these pieces are newer while others are older and even original to the grounds. We are always on the look out for new playground additions as well as keeping our current equipment up to date and safe.

Our beautiful, well maintained Baseball Field gets plenty of use from both adults & kids. Whether it’s a Church League, Little League, All-Stars, or just a few friends gathering to play some ball; if the weather is nice, you can be sure to find someone on the Baseball Field.

Outdoor bathroom provided in the park but there is no running water.

Let’s take a look inside the building … you will find a newly renovated dining hall, smaller kitchen, larger kitchen, and restrooms. The dining hall has so much to offer with the modern and clean look from the white ceiling & walls to the new laminate flooring. We purchased new, lightweight tables and chairs that give a more elegant look to any type of event. We have also upgraded our windows to allow for better air flow through the building during the warmer months. Our dining hall can comfortably seat 80-90 people.

Both kitchens offer plenty of counter & table space to prepare all the food for your events. In the smaller kitchen you will find regular-sized sinks but in the large kitchen you will find three deeper sinks for all your bigger dishwashing needs. You will also have access to two stoves/ovens, one refrigerator/freezer, a deep freezer, and a large refrigerator, some serving utensils and other cookware that is property of the center can be used. (Please wash, dry, and put any items back where you found them).  The stand-alone griddle is NOT for public use.
